AT THE
The 26th Annual Triathion is being held to benefit the Wilmington Family YMCA. It is held in the Town of Wrightsville Beach and the City of Wilmington, boasts a very colorful history. Dating back to the era of the first Ironman, our triathlon is not only the oldest in the South, but also the largest in North Carolina. It is a sprint distance race, with 1.5 mile swim, 12 mile bike and 3.1 mile run
From the very beginning, the triathlon was a fund raiser for the local YMCA. Today, the race provides proceeds to the YMCA of Wilmington for use in our Community Partner’s Campaign which provides funds for children to attend programs such as Day Camp, After School Child care, Swimming Lessons and various Youth Sports. These programs give them a chance to develop healthy spirits, minds and bodies.
