Randy Smyth has sailed and won world class events for years. His 'Smyth Team' produces sails that win races on all sizes of multihulls. Besides winning the Worrell 1000 an unprecedented 5 times, he has 55 National, Continental and World Championship titles. Some interesting side jobs include teaching Dennis Conner the fine points of Catamaran sailing for the 1988 America's cup, skipper for Kevin Cosner in Water World, and he recently performed a spectacular capsize for Pierce Brosnen in the Thomas Crown Affair.
Both his 2 year old daughter Nicole and his wife Paula will be traveling up the coast with 'Team BLOCKADE RUNNER Beach Resort.' Paula is instrumental in managing our team and doubles as web mistress.
Matt Struble of Bay City Michigan, will bring to the team his prestigious title as current Inter 20 National Champion. Many other teams wish they knew Matt's many techniques to extract maximum performance form this year's Worrell 1000 catamaran.
At 26 years old, his Iceboat Achievements include 7 time North American Iceboat Champion Jr. and 3 time World Iceboat Champion Jr. He also actively builds and flies experimental aircraft. Matt was ranked number one in the country for the pole vault while attending Saginaw Valley State University.
Together Randy and Matt will make quite a duo. Combined with their strong and qualified beach support 'Team BLOCKADE RUNNER Beach Resort' will certainly be a team to contend with.
