Proceeds will benefit the NC Coastal Land Trust-
Wrightsville Beach, NC
On Saturday, November 6th , Great Outdoor Provision Company and Salt Marsh
Kayak will join forces to present the 1 st Annual Wrightsville Beach Sea Kayak
Race. The race will begin and end at 275 Waynick Blvd., Wrightsville Beach and
will follow a course through the marshes across from this location. All proceeds
from the race will be donated to the North Carolina Coastal Land Trust.
"Wrightsville Beach is a beautiful and popular place to paddle," said
George Bland, Manager of GOP's Wilmington store. "Our customers requested
this event, and we felt it would be a great way to thank them for their support.
We think the race will be a huge success."
Colin Eagles, owner of Salt Marsh Kayak Company added, "We also saw this
race as an opportunity to support the environment that makes this sport so
special. Our decision to donate the proceeds to the NC Coastal Land Trust is
only natural given that they are a local organization committed to the
preservation of our coastal environment."

will help in our continuing effort to protect special places along the
coast." Entry forms for the race will soon be available at Salt Marsh Kayak
Company on Wrightsville Beach, and at all seven of Great Outdoor Provision
Company's North Carolina locations. The race will include touring and
recreational divisions, as well as divisions for various age groups.
