Wrightsville Beach Marina Spring Challenge & The Cape Fear Blue Water Open have joined forces to create the 2008 Spring Challenge presented by the Cape Fear Blue Water Fishing Club. These two tournaments combined create the BEST FISHING TOURNAMENT for Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphin and Billfish. Captains Party Wednesday; Fishing Thursday, Friday, Saturday (select 2 of the 3 days). Walk through breathtaking homes and spectacular gardens on the coast.  Tour hours are 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Tickets are $25.00 and may be purchased at the Harbor Way Gardens in front of the Wrightsville Beach Fire Station, on the day of the Tour. All proceeds go to the preservation and beautification of Wrightsville Beach. The 19th Annual River to the Sea Ride will begin at 9:00 am at Thalian Hall at the corner of Chestnut and Third Streets in Downtown Wilmington.  This will be an easy, casual-paced 20 mile ride to Wrightsville Beach Park and back using Wilmington’s River to the Sea Route (Bike Route 1).  All riders are welcome and refreshments will be provided at the halfway point in Wrightsville Beach Park.  Skilled bicycle mechanics will be on hand for equipment safety checks.  All participants are required to wear helmets and to observe rules of the road. The Beach2Battleship Full kicks off its first season in 2008 bringing the highly desired ultra distance back to the Carolinas. With a 2.4 mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and 26.2-mile run, this event will bring the 2008 triathlon season to an end in a big way! This event benefits The Wilmington Family YMCA.
